| ORGANISING COMMITTEE |
The Organising Committee of the Diplomatic Regatta consists of members of the Diplomatic Corps, in other words, people who gave the Regatta its name, then representatives of general sponsors, namely people who guarantee the necessary financial sources for the Regatta, and distinguished representatives of the Slovenian political and business communities, namely those who can contribute to the popularisation of this event and the promotion of sailing in Slovenia.

I am delighted to welcome you to the 2008 Diplomatic Regatta. Here is a chance once again for members of the diplomatic community in Slovenia to spend a pleasant day in the company of friends old and new from around the country, and especially from Slovenia's sailing community. We look forward to an enjoyable day at sea followed by a memorable evening in the Port of Izola, where we will toast the winners and relax with the friends we have made during the regatta. I am very grateful to the organisers and to all of the sponsors that help to make the Diplomatic Regatta such a splendid and unmissable event. Tim Simmons |

This is my third year in the Organization Committee of the Diplomatic Regatta and it is a great pleasure to see the Diplomatic Regatta take roots and become a tradition, an event to which people like to return, enjoy the company of others and have fun both at the sea and on the shore. Good wind to your sails! Ivana Hlavsová |

The Adriatic Sea is the sea I immediately equate with sailing: the historic beauty of Venice, the multitude of Croatian islands and in between: the charming Slovenian seaside cities of Piran and Izola. All of them have for centuries been connected by sailing boats. Looking at the land from the water, be it sea or a river, is always a special feeling; each year it is a pleasure to sail alongside the Slovenian coast in one of the numerous boats that participate in the Diplomatic Regatta. I am really looking forward to this year's Regatta, which I am sure will be as much fun as all the others have been in which I participated. John Groffen |

Sailing has been for years connected with searching new routes. It gives us feeling of freedom which is close to Polish soul. On the board everybody recollects himself that man's destiny is partly in hands of other co-sailors. Sailing teaches us solidarity. That's why sailing is being interconnected to Polish tradition from ages. Although sailing teams are competitors during the regatta their join struggle with Neptune and Eol powers creates among them bonds of cooperation and friendship which remain. I'm very glad that I can take part in the Diplomatic Regatta in Slovenia for the second time as a member of the Organizing Committee. Diplomatic Regatta 2007 turned out as a very successful sports and social event. I'm convinced that Diplomatic Regatta 2008 will be worthy experience. Piotr Kaszuba |

We have been making this event increasing in size and importance year after year and the Diplomatic regatta 2008 will be at the maximum of the possible presence. To have full control of the event it is not easy, however for the success of the Diplomatic regatta 2008, the Marina of Izola is ready to give full support. Enrico Galassi |

It is my pleasure to participate in the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic regatta for the sixth year now and that the regatta meantime became the traditional socializing event for diplomats, politicians, economists and sailors. We will do our best to make sure that the event justifies the expectation and trust of all the participants and maintains and raises the level we have been building all these years. Branko Auguštin |
